You can't be sad when working with glitter
This weekend I was feeling down.
So I decided to play with glitter to cheer myself up.
I got together supplies to make positive notes to leave places.
I spent a lot of time making the notes look pretty while watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
I used both hanging tags and business-sized cards in envelopes for variety and added sparkley red hearts to the back of everything.
Most notes were inspirational but some were funny.
Today I got together with two of my beautiful UTD friends, Sana and Mary, to help me hide them around campus for unsuspecting Comets to find.
I hope they are appreciated!
It was just what I needed to pick myself up! This project was so much fun!

My Favorite Holiday

Bats!
Halloween is my favorite holiday. It's kind of ironic because I do not like scary movies, haunted houses or disgusting/scary costumes. I like Halloween's whimsy. I love the creativity behind it it and the fall atmosphere.
This year I decided to host a Halloween party. I did this for a couple of reasons. One was because I wanted to be able to drink and let go without having to worry
about my boyfriend or me driving anywhere. Another was because I wanted to see all of my friends from different social circles in one place. The biggest reason is that I love hosting. I love coming up with food and drinks to serve that I know will be a hit. I love decorating.

On the menu I served pumpkin seeds, puppy chow, pigs in a blanket. For drinks I served Sangria and my roommate served an alcoholic sherbet punch.

For decorations I hung orange and black garlands running across the ceiling and the fireplace mantle that were inspired by a beautiful holiday ribbon garland I found on pinterest. Making the garlands took the longest. I cut strips of black and orange felt and tied it in a basic knot around a rope or strand of christmas lights. It was very slow going and I watched a lot of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to pass the time.
I set up a photo area with witch paper as a background and labeled food and drinks using a moonlight GellyRoll pen on black card stock. I also cut out mice out of black cardstock in put them up in the kitchen.
